Kaua‘i’s Tiffany Ikeda-Simao earned the third best time in the trials, yesterday of the 47th Annual Island Movers/HHSAA State Track and Field Championships at Kamehameha Schools (O‘ahu).
Ikeda-Simao, who took home numerous medals the KIF championships, clocked in at 12.76, which was the third best qualifying time. Baldwin’s June Ann Lusk sits at 12.74.
In the 100 meter boys prelims, Waimea’s Kenny Estes finished up in third place (11.40). Thato Nthite of HPA holds the top time at 11.18.
Kapa‘a’s Nathaniel Langi has the seventh best discus throw at 143-02. The leader after the first day is Hilo’s Kainoa Pea with an attempt of 173-06. Kaua‘i’s Chelsea Smith-Wishard tabbed the fourth best time in the 1,500 meter trials (5:04.37).
