Schedule change for disaster relief center


The schedule has changed for Kaua‘i’s disaster relief center. It is open now through Friday from noon to 8 p.m., and on Monday from noon to 8 pm.

The center will not be open on Saturday as previously announced.

It will still be located at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall.

Federal, state and county officials will be on hand at the DRC to answer questions and offer assistance to those who suffered losses due to the recent heavy rains.

Before coming to the Disaster Relief Center, residents who were affected by the disaster are encouraged to register online at the FEMA Web site, or by calling toll-free 1-800-621-3362.

Those who are speech or hearing- impaired can call 1-800-462-7585 (TTY).

Telephone lines are open 5 a.m. to 6 p.m., Hawai‘i Standard Time, seven days a week.
