Michael David Abell
Michael David Abell of Kapa‘a, died at his home in Kapa‘a at the age of 46.
Born Oct. 11, 1959, in San Jose, Calif., he was a carpenter.
He is survived by his wife: Lisa Kaauwai Abell of Kapa‘a; five children: Kristen Nanea Kaauwai, Maile-Marie Abell, Michael Ikaika-Glenn Abell, Tasha Kaauwai, Ty Kaikoa (Brooke) Ragudo, all of Kapa‘a; one granddaughter; mother: Faye (Stewart) Davis of California; two brothers: Ron (Linette) Abell of California and Rick (Vicki) Abell of California; one sister: Sheri (Tom) Bonsell of Washington and in-laws: John and Barbara Kaauwai of Anahola; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, at Kapa‘a First Hawaiian Church where memorial services will be celebrated at 10 a.m. by Rev. Richard Chun. Scattering of remains will be on a later date.
The family requests that flowers be omitted and suggests aloha or casual attire.
Arrangements are being handled by the staff of Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Bernard Frank
Bernard (Barney) Adams Frank died on April 29, 2006, in New Jersey at the age of 91.
He was born in Waukegan, Ill. on Sept. 20, 1914 and is survived by sister, Marianne LaBarbera of Florida; brother, Richard Frank of Oklahoma; daughter, Sherry Olkonen of Kapa‘a; son, Ricky Frank of California; grandchildren, Kelly Taschner-Brock of New Jersey, Tamara Emerson of Washington, Kevin Frank of North Carolina; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Kamarainen and Spencer Emerson of Washington, Madelyn and Garret Brock of New Jersey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Barney was a WWII veteran, serving in the Army in Europe and was captured during the Battle of the Bulge. He worked for most of his life in the dry cleaning industry. After retirement he went back to school at the age of 66 and became a certified nurse assistant and worked for a home health agency for a number of years.
Arrangements are being handled by Snover-Givnish Funeral Home in Cinnaminson, New Jersey. The family will have a memorial service and scatter the remains in California on June 10.
