Officials with the Kaua‘i Planning & Action Alliance announced in a press release the scheduling of a workshop Tuesday for substance-abuse counselors, mental health professionals, social workers, and those who would like to become certified substance-abuse counselors.
“Critical Thinking for Addiction Professionals” will be led by Dr. Michael J. Taleff, PhD, CSAC, MAC, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott Kauai at Waipouli Beach.
Taleff is well known in the field of addiction and treatment. He is an instructor at the University of Hawai‘i, and his latest book is “Critical Thinking for Addiction Professionals.”
The workshop will satisfy the requirements for 6.5 hours of continuing-education credits for substance-abuse counselors and other mental-health professionals.
The cost is $20 per person, and includes continental breakfast, lunch, and training materials. Payment is required by today.
