James Bacarro Sr.

James “Jimmy” Fujii Bacarro Sr. of Lihu’e died on April 19, 2006, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 74.

Born in Lihu’e on April 30, 1931, he worked as a heavy equipment driver with Grove Farm Plantation and also was the food and beverage manager at Kauai Surf.

He is survived by his wife, Laureta Nasis-Bacarro of Lihu’e, son, James (Kathy) Bacarro Jr. of Lawai, daughter, Verna (Owen) Bacarro Nishihara of Lihu’e, two stepsons: Jose D. Valdez Jr. of Lihu’e, Leo Valdez of Washington, D.C., two stepdaughters: Janet (Michael) Paragas and Lorna (Richard) Asuncion, both of Honolulu, two sisters, Dorothy “Dottie” Bonilla of Puhi, Katherine “Potot” (Cereal) Fernandez of Koloa, brother, Alfred (Naty) Bacarro of Honolulu, four grand-children, two step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews.

Services were private.

Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted family with arrangements.
