Kauai Bonyu Kai club members has been invited by officials of the Kauai County Farm Bureau to be a part of the Garden Fair, to be held tomorrow at the Kaua‘i Community College from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Displayed will be approximately 20 bonsai, styled and presented by Bonyu Kai members, in addition to a number of viewing stones (suiseki) on individual, handcrafted stands.
The highlight of the exhibit will be a lecture and PowerPoint presentation by Al Nelson, bonsai and suiseki expert from Southern California.
He will speak on the use of the suiseki with bonsai, natural versus cut stones, making display bases for stones, and how suiseki should be displayed.
Nelson has been involved with bonsai and suiseki for more than 40 years, and possesses vast knowledge of the subjects.
The exhibit is free.
