Signing up early, like tomorrow, for the annual Kauai Visitor Industry Charity Walk, will earn some lucky walker a trip for two to Las Vegas, walk organizers announced recently.
The kickoff event is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow at Kukui Grove Center, and all who pick up their pledge forms at this event qualify to win a Vacations Hawaii trip for two to Las Vegas, a Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa getaway, a weekend at the Kauai Beach Hotel & Resort, Kukui Grove Center merchandise prizes, and other prizes.
Comedian Augie T. will offer comic relief, and Dickie Chang of “Wala‘au” will be on hand, as will Kapu Kinimaka-Alquiza’s Na Hula O Kaohikukapulani, Norman Kaawa Solomon and his band, Michael Dandurand with his recorded music, Bev Brody, Ron Wiley, and others.
The first 500 walkers to pick up pledge forms will receive souvenir Walk the Walk buttons.
All of the events are free and open to the public.
The Kauai Visitor Industry Charity Walk is Saturday, May 20, a three-mile loop starting and ending at the historic County Building on Rice Street in Lihu‘e.
Those raising enough money in pledges will qualify for prizes at the event, wherein all money raised on the island stays on the island, for nonprofit organizations.
