Isabel Medeiros
Isabel “Bella” Medeiros of Kalaheo died at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home on March 29, 2006, at the age of 94.
Born in New Mill, on Jan. 22, 1912, she along with her husband, sons and grandsons, owned and operated Kauai Mortuary in Koloa for 33 years.
She was active in her senior citizens groups, a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, a representative to the Kauai Economic Opportunity organization, and a member of the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program working as a volunteer at Wilcox Hospital in the geratrics ward for 20 years.
Bella was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Medeiros, her two sons, Michael Medeiros and Patrick Medeiros and one grandson, Patrick “Patta” Medeiros Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Veronica (Solomon) Ono of Kalaheo; two daugters-in-law, Ann Medeiros of Hilo and Lorraine Medeiros-Loy of Lawai; 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call on Saturday, April 8, at St. Raphael’s Church in Koloa from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. with Mass to follow.
Erin Healani Carroll
Erin Healani Carroll of North Hills, Calif., died March 28, 2006, at her home at the age of 59.
Born May 9, 1946, in Waimea, she lived in Kekaha until 1968. She moved to California and was a resident for 38 years. She had a successful career and retired with SBC/Pacific Bell in March 2004. Erin lost her battle to breast cancer.
Arrangements were made by the staff of Angelenos Mortuary Home in Van Nuys, Ca. Her ashes will be interred on her one-year anniversary on Kaua‘i.
Clara Y.K. Bode
Clara Y.K Bode of Wailua Houselots who was a wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend to many died at home on March 29, 2006, after a short illness at the age of 75.
Born Aug. 4, 1930, in the Waipouli coconut grove, she is preceded in death by her husband Harold W. Bode, Sr. and her hanai son, Charles Caspino.
She is survived by three daughters: Maryann Bode of Wailua, Philomena “Peaches” Bode of Oregon, hanai daughter: Charlene Veronica Wilson of North Carolina; five sons: Harold W. (Colleen) Bode, Jr. of Harwich, Mass, Raymond R. Bode of Pearl City; hanai sons: Dennis Caspino of South Carolina, Francis Ching of Jackson, Wyoming, and Joseph (Nancy) Coconate of O‘ahu; five sisters: Frances Tabachman of California, Mary (Stanley) Duque of California, Eleanor (Lee) White of California, Mildred Lowney of California, and Alice (Clarence) Medeiros of Kailua; two brothers: Ralph Ching of Hawaii Kai and Clarence “Duke” (Laverne)
Ching of California; 18 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may call on Saturday, April 8, at St. Catherine’s Church in Kapa‘a from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. where Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Father Al. Burial to follow at St. Catherine Church cemetery in Kealia.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by the staff of Borthwick/Kauai Mortuary.
Kiyoko K. Hashimoto
Kiyoko K. Hashimoto of Waimea died at Garden Isle Healthcare on Mar. 25, 2006, at the age of 89. Born in Waimea on April 7, 1916, she was a housewife.
She is survived by two sons, Glen (Laveta) Hashimoto of Washington and Barry K. (Rose) Hashimoto of Waimea; one grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews. Services were private.
Arrangements were handled by the staff of Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Radford Nakaahiki
Radford “Raddy” Kaikilani Nakaahiki of Waimea, Kauai, died at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital on April 1, 2006, at the age of 52.
Born in Waimea on Oct. 2, 1953, he was a truck driver with Kauai Petroleum.
Preceded in death by his wife, Susan Kay Nakaahiki and father, James K. Nakaahiki, Jr.. he is survived by his son, Ryson Keola Nakaahiki of Waimea; mother, Ramona Nakaahiki of Kekaha; brother, James III (Gail) Nakaahiki of Kekaha; sisters, Gweneth (Merrell) Cardejon of Kekaha, Romayne “Lani“ (Thomas) Matsuyoshi of ‘Ele‘ele, Weylene (Michael) Santos of Kekaha and Melanie (Chris) Okamoto of ‘Ele‘ele. Friends may visit with the family from 2 – 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; service to begin at 3 p.m. Casual attire is suggested.

Alice A. Nagaoka
Alice A. Nagaoka died March 25, 2006, at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home at the age of 84.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Uncle Billy” Nagaoka. A celebration of her life will be held at Hanalei Pier, Sunday, April 16, at noon.
Arrangements are being handled by the staff of Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Elaine V. Marchi
Elaine V. Marchi of Kalaheo, died April 1, 2006, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 75.
Born Nov. 16, 1930, in Richmond, Calif., she was a mother and mentor to many.
She is survived by her son: Paul (Alda) Marchi; daughter: Claudette (Jim) Muchmore; four grandchildren: Alika Hirano, Corinne Hirano, Jessica Marchi and Melissa Marchi; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family at 10 a.m on Saturday, April 8, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa, where memorial services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Father Nap.

Posiedonia Reese
Posiedonia Borrero Reese died Dec. 8, 2005, at her home after a two-year battle with cancer, at the age of 60.
Born on Jan. 17, 1945, she was a native of Kaua‘i but lived in Vallejo for five years.
She was the office manager for various offices, most recently Central Self-Storage in Vallejo.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years : Bobby Reese of Vallejo; daughters: Lord Messeret of Nepa; Nicole Brown of Cocord; sons: Kenny Reese of Hayward and James Reese of Spanaway, sisters: Sylvia Troche of Kaua‘i and Matilda Yaris of Kaua‘i; brothers: Rudy Borrero of Washington, Peter Borrero, Jr. of Kaua‘i, and Raymond Borrero of Culver City; 11 grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may call on Friday, April 14, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
