Graduating seniors planning to seek higher education in the field of agriculture, horticulture or another closely related field can apply for several local scholarships, states a press release.
Three scholarship programs are available for an agricultural course of study.
The scholarships include five $1,000 Kauai County Farm Bureau Scholarships, three $500 East Kauai Soil & Water Conservation District Scholarships and three $500 Hawaii Cattlemen’s Council Scholarships.
A total of 11 scholarships adding up to $8,000 are available.
Each of the scholarships has similar requirements: scholastic achievement, school and community activities, official transcripts and letters of recommendation.
An additional benefit of the Kauai County Farm Bureau Scholarship Program is one of the scholarships is earmarked for a farm bureau family member in any field of study.
Scholarship deadlines are: April 12, East Kauai Soil & Water Conservation District; April 15, Kauai County Farm Bureau and May 31, Hawaii Cattlemen’s Council.
