Congratulations to Amy and Chris Price on the arrival of their son Jake Christopher Price! Does he still qualify to be a Prince Kuhio baby? Dean Nakayama is one of those people who is just really nice. He offered up cakes, pies, and whatever the Honolulu search-and- rescue people wanted when Ross, one of the searchers, popped in Wednesday. But he said they were grateful to have some time to shop, and just had a bag of cookies to share with the rest of the group. Great job, guys! Kapa‘a High School tennis players Ella Arume and Stephanie Kawamura had only a little time to enjoy the baseball game before it, like tennis practice, was called due to the rain.
Still on the agenda is the malasada for Todd Vines’ EK (Essential Kaua‘i).
While working on the saimin piece for EK, got to see Denise (she was getting excited about U.S. Sen. Daniel Akaka’s visit) and her girls, as well as KQNG’s Marc Valentin, enjoying the respite from the rain outside their studio. Ron Wiley’s car wasn’t even in the parking lot, so he must be getting some rest now.
Big Save’s May Kawakami said there were a couple of very pretty roses somewhere between KQNG and Hamura’s, but someone else must’ve discovered them, too.
OK, ‘nuff said … it’s time to visit Warren Perry and the rest of the people at the Prince Kuhio services! And, if we’re really lucky, maybe Stella Burgess will be around at the all-day Prince Kuhio festivities at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa at Po‘ipu.
