LIHU‘E — A 27-year-old man pleaded not guilty to charges of sexually assaulting a girl who was under 14 years old.
Koa Phillips-Hamilton faces eight felony counts for alleged offenses that took place between Sept. 1, 2002, and Feb. 14, 2003.
Phillips-Hamilton pleaded not guilty to the charges earlier this month before Fifth Circuit Court Chief Judge George Masuoka.
A jury trial is set for June 26.
Phillips-Hamilton was indicted by members of Kaua‘i’s grand jury last month.
According to the three-page indictment, he faces four counts of first-degree sexual assault, and four counts of third-degree sexual assault.
Phillips-Hamilton was arrested March 8, according to the Kaua‘i Police Department arrest log. Bail was set at $80,000.
