Jose Dadag Valdez

Jose Dadag Valdez of Hanama’ulu died on March 11, 2006, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 93.

Born Dec. 21, 1912, in the Philipines, he worked as a crew chief.

He is survived by his wife, Jovita Valdez; two sons; Jose D. Valdez, Jr., Leopold N. Valdez, two daughters; Janet (Michael) Paragas, Lorna (Richard) Asuncion, two grandsons: Lee Jordan Paragas, Joshua H.L. Asuncion, numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call on Friday, March 24, at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and again on Saturday, March 25, at Immaculate Conception Church from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. where Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Father Bill. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by the staff of Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.


Filamor Bisarra

Filamor Bisarra of Kekaha died on March 10, 2006, at his home in Kekaha at the age of 94.

Born Sept. 23, 1911, in the Phillipines, he retired from Kekaha Sugar Plantation.

He is survived by four children:Alfred Pagala, Elmer Bisarra, Filamor (Adriane) Bisarra, Jr., Valerie (Kent) Murata; son-in-law Bruce Harrison; four brothers: Julian (Elvira) Bisarra, Francisco Bisarra, Pedro (Leonida) Bisarra, Jaime Bisarra, three sisters; Bonet Cascolan, Antonia Sanchez, Caridad Padilla, three grandchildren, four great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends and family can visit with the family from 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, at St. Theresa’s Church in Kekaha, where Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. by Father Larry. Burial will follow at Kekaha Public Cemetery.

Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by the staff of Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.


Maelyn Corpuz

Infant Maelyn Corpuz was born and died on March 18, 2006, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital.

She is survived by parents: Marvin and Jonalynne Corpuz, grandparents: Julio and Rosalinda Clemente, Merlita Valencia, Ricarte Erorita, cousin Kichelle Momohara, numerous uncles and aunties.

Services will be held at on Wednesday, March 22, at Immaculate Conception Church where services wil be held at 9 a.m. Burial will follow at Lihu’e Cemetery.

Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by the staff of Borthwick Kaua’i Mortuary.
