A huge mahalo to the Hawai‘i Community Foundation. They recently bestowed a $10,000 grant to The Koloa Early School, on behalf of the Atherton Family Foundation’s Preschool Tuition Assistance program.
The grant purpose is to offer mid-year assistance to families in need. The Koloa Early School can now offer support, for the remainder of the school year, to several families that they were unable to assist at the beginning of the year. Two of these families were both hit with unexpected circumstances and were considering pulling their children out of school due to lack of funds. TKES can now keep these children in school during these instrumental developmental years. The Koloa Early School is a nonprofit preschool for children between the ages of 3 and 5. Founded by Kaua‘i residents in 1985, the school has consistently maintained its capacity enrollment. The school serves families predominantly on the South Shore of Kaua‘i, from the Kalaheo, Lawa‘i, Po‘ipu and Koloa communities. For more information on the school, or enrollment for 2006-07 please call 742-1769.
