KAPA’A — Sierra Mayer finished with a hat trick (three goals) and an assist to lead the Bantam division Piranhas to a 4-2 win over the Hurricanes Sunday.
The assist came to sister Cascade who scored the Piranhas’ fourth goal in the victory.
Helping keep the Hurricanes at bay, goalie Soane Latiniupulu got an excellent 30 saves on 32 shot attempts in the win.
Keaton Ducan and Christopher Villabrille got the Hurricane goals with Kristen McCracken adding an assist in the effort.
Penni Taketa, the Kaua’i Inline Hockey scorekeeper, said that Friday night’s inclement weather saw only one complete game before the other games were eventually called due to weather.
However, Sunday’s nice break from the rain saw all four divisions complete their games.
Lon Shimanuki, the league president, said that this weekend will have games being played on Friday night only due to many players having other commitments on Sunday. Friday night games start at 6 p.m. at the Kapa’a rink.
