A whale-watch and snorkel sail, to benefit Hawaii Children’s Theatre and the Island School Media Club, is scheduled for Saturday.
The event is aboard a Captain Andy’s Sailing Adventures craft, and in addition to benefiting participants in Hawaii Children’s Theatre productions, will help send Island School students to Kenya in July to visit with fellow students and brainstorm ways to educate young Kenyans about HIV/AIDS, fund-raiser organizers said in a press release.
The Island School’s Media Club is called JUMP (Juveniles Use Media Power).
While in Kenya, they will link up with Kenyans in high schools with their own JUMP clubs, and work on various projects for raising awareness about the problem of HIV/AIDS.
The sail will be aboard a large trimaran.
Tickets are an $85 donation. Food and drinks will be provided.
Space is very limited, so organizers are encouraging those interested to reserve tickets now by calling Debra Blachowiak, 639-2437.
