Clarence “Dola” Keola Moa
Clarence “Dola” Keola Moa Feb. 19, 2006, at the age of 75.
Born in Kilauea on Jan. 28, 1931, he moved to Seattle, Wash., in 1957, married Judith Coulsey, the mother of his children, on Sept. 16, 1959, and lived there for 49 years.
He was the father of six children: Kimberly (Chris), Debra (Jerry), Judy, Dwayne (Donna), Brian, Erick (Casie) and Papa to 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., March 15, at Honokohau Harbor, Kailua-Kona at the Hono-kohau Yacht Club on Kealakehe Parkway.
Beatrice “Bea” Lang
Beatrice “Bea” Lang of Lihu’e died on March 3, 2006, at the age of 82 at her daughter’s home in Wailua.
Born and raised on Kaua’i, she married and started her family on O’ahu, moving to California to work in the health care field. Beatrice worked in Home Health Care for 20 years after returning to Kaua’i, retiring at the age of 76 from Interim Health Care of the Pacific.
Preceded in death by her son Daniel Stagg; father Joseph “Joe Lee Lee” Texeira; mother Elsie “Asena” Correa; sister Marjorie Bullock; brother Joseph “Sunny” Texeira Jr.; and brother David Texeira, she is survived by two daughters, Wanda (Fefe) Stagg Matsuda of Wailua Homesteads, Lisa Mills of New Hampshire, four grandchildren, Scott (Des) Matsuda, Lisa (Kalani) Matsuda-Telles, both of Wailua Homesteads, Jennifer Dubois, Jason Dubois, both of New Hampshire, three sisters, Gussie Souza of Hanama’ulu, Francis “Frannie” Getler of California, William “Billy” (Ida) Texeira of Puhi, Dorothy (Albert) Moura of Kalaheo, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 18, at Immaculate Conception Church in Kapaia with visitation at 9 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 by Fr. Bill Shannon. Her ashes will be scattered at a later date in a private ceremony. Cremation and arrangements were handled by the staff of Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
Raymond Fernandes Sr.
Raymond Clifford Braga Fernandes, Sr. (Big Ray) of Las Vegas, Nev. died on March 7, 2006, at the age of 82. Born on Jan. 22, 1924, he retired as the head custodian from Kapaa High and Intermediate School, Hawaii National Guard, and owner of Tang Thai Restaurant.
Preceded in death by wife, Muriel Agnes Kaleialii Kahai Fernandes, he is survived by wife, Sunee Chor Fernandes, five daughters; Laverne A. Fernandes Moore, LeeAnne H. Donayri, Lahoma FernandesNakata, Leimomi (Lee-Stark) Fernandes, Soontaree Chanpaijii, four sons; Raymond Fernandes, Jr., Russell P. Fernandes, Randall S. Fernandes, Setta Chanpaijii, three sisters; Dorothemae Drumeller, Adriene F. Thronas, Leinani Rodenhurst, brother, Gilbert B. Fernandes, 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be on Friday, March 17, at St. Catherine Church in Kapahi with visitation from 9 a.m. with Mass celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens in Kapaia.
The family requests aloha attire and flowers are gratefully declined.
