WAILUA — The damp, muddy conditions didn’t stop the Kaua’i Senior Softball teams from completing another successful round of games yesterday at the Wailua Houselots Ballpark.
While K-Makule and Kuku’s Aces prepared for their contest at the outskirts of the field, the hard-hitting Lihu’e A’s pounded out another dominating win against Kawaihau.
Peter Rayno and Ron Alfonso led the A’s in the hitting department once again, with Lihu’e taking the 25-6 win.
The game didn’t go the distance and was called early, because of the mercy rule.
Most of the squads this year took advice from the fashion police by wearing more fashionable, up-to-date shorts.
While Lihu’e proudly wore its green mesh attachments, K-Makule followed suit with new garments.
Game announcer Harold Naumu was busy again with his normal duties, which added to the festivities.
Even Noe Dela Cruz (and her puppy) took some time out of her busy teenage schedule to watch her dad in action for K-Makule.
Full results of yesterday’s senior softball contests will be published sometime this week.
