Lopaka Tatom, Jack Iida, and Barbara Hataishi all won their divisions in the Kaua’i Seniors Golf Club Tournament, held at the Wailua Golf Course on Feb. 25.

Swim Kauai Aquatics begin today
Swim Kauai Aquatics (SKA), Kaua’i’s newly sanctioned United States swim team, opens today, 3 p.m. at Kaua’i High School.
Swim workout days and times will vary depending on age and ability.
All interested swimmers (ages 5 & up) are invited to participate.

Kapa’a Pop Warner seeks volunteers
The Kapa’a Pop Warner Association is seeking volunteers for its upcoming season.
Positions that need to be filled include head and assistant coaches, business managers, and equipment managers.

Kawaihau Little League registration
The Kawaihau Community Little League (KCLL) is having open registration for its majors division, (children born between May 1, 1993-April 30, 1997) now through March 17 at Pono Market in Kapa’a, Kapa’a Little League Ballpark, March 7-9, 14-16, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Call Charlene at 652-6515), and in Kilauea (call Adrianne at 639-2794) to arrange application pick-up and drop off for the north shore area.
Completed applications will be accepted at Kapa’a and Kilauea Ballparks only, but not at Pono Market.
The registration fee is $40 and in addition to the fee, application, and medical release form, parents must also provide a copy of the player’s birth certificate and medical insurance card.

Ginez, Ovales dominate in Waimea
The Garden Isle R/C Racers celebrated along with the Waimea Town Celebration on Saturday.
Dennis Ginez and Bart Ovales were the big winners in the two divisions. Ginez was followed up by Seth Morales, Noel Udaundo, Bongie Gorospe, and Roland Ruiz in the 4wd Nitro Sedan A competition.
Aaron Arizo, Dimi Rivera, Ian Ruiz, and Randy Alcantara, followed Ovales in the 4wd Nitro Sedan B contest.
The next race happens on March 12, weather permitting, at the Wailua offroad track, starting at 10 a.m.
