Tumbaga still going strong

Members of the family of Maria Tumbaga celebrated her 94th birthday with her recently.

Over 60 relatives and close friends attended this birthday celebration for this vibrant, feisty little woman who has brought much joy and love for so many years to all around her, family members said.

Off-island guests included son Oseas Tumbaga, his wife Aurora, mother-in-law Aurora, and granddaughter Marlina Vea Jimenez, from Garland, Texas; Irene Queja and granddaughter Casses Queja, from Wahiawa, O‘ahu; and Vivian Queja Dryer from the Big Island.

“We’re so blessed that our mother continues to be in relatively fine health. She’s growing old gracefully,” family members added.

Maria Tumbaga has five children, one hanai daughter, 16 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren, who live on Kaua‘i, in California, Colorado, Indiana, Texas, Wisconsin, Puerto Rico and London, England.
