Leilani Cabais was named third runner-up concierge of the year in the Hawaii Hotel & Lodging Association annual awards program recognizing the state’s largest industry’s top employees, and Charlie Ortal was named second runner-up in the category for security officer of the year, in Waikiki recently.
They work at the Princeville Resort (hotel).
They and other nominees for the prestigious Na Poe Pa’ahana (the hard-working people of Hawai’i) awards were also named top employees at the North Shore resort, and were recognized by their peers recently.
The awards are handed out annually for outstanding customer service, resort officials said in a press release.
Princeville Resort’s 2005 employees of the year include Cabais, concierge of the year; Peggy Salvador, bellperson of the year; Cheryl Alapai, manager of the year; Germaline Ovalles, housekeeper of the year; James Dugay, engineer of the year; Kelly Kaona, outstanding lodging employee of the year; Sonya Huwe, front office person of the year; and Ortal, security officer of the year.
