Officials from Kapa‘a High School released an announcement earlier this week stating that starting this Tuesday, they will be confiscating cell phones and any headphones to iPods or compact disc players if students are using them at inappropriate times.
Confiscated items will be returned at the end of the school day at 2:30 the first time the items are confiscated.
In the event of a second confiscation, school officials will request that parents pick up the items from the school themselves.
In an announcement, officials have asked that parents do not call their children during school hours unless it is an emergency and to encourage their children to leave their iPods and compact disc players at home.
Phone calls to the school officials or the Kaua‘i Complex superintendent’s office were not immediately returned.
There is no word yet on how long the officials plan on confiscating these items.
For more information, contact Ms. Ayre or Vice-Principal Harrison at the school at 821-4401.
