Deadline set for workshop on strengthening nonprofits

Hawai‘i Community Foundation officials are sponsoring a half-day, interactive workshop, “Strengthening Your Organization — Demystifying Capacity Building for Nonprofits.”

The workshop is designed for staff members of nonprofit organizations to learn practical applications of capacity-building techniques that enable those organizations to carry out their missions more efficiently and effectively, according to a press release.

The workshop will be led by national trainers and consultants David Plettner and Mark Anderson of the Cultural+Planning Group.

The workshop will also include an overview of all of the Hawai‘i Community Foundation’s grant-making programs for 2006.

The workshop will be held Thursday from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Aloha Beach Resort-Kauai off Kuhio Highway in Wailua, and the registration deadline is today.

Seating is limited. The cost to attend the workshop is $25 per person.
