There will be an organizational meeting for the Kaua’i Girls Junior Olympics Softball League to be held Thursday, February 16, 7 p.m. at the Lihu’e Neighborhood Center.
Topics of discussion will be the upcoming season schedule, rules, age divisions, league administration and team registration.
All prospective coaches, administrators and those interested in the program should attend.
The league is open to girls aged 18 & under as of January 1, 2006.

Kamehameha alumni golf tournament set
The Kamehameha Alumni Scholarship Golf Tournament tees off Feb. 18 at the Puakea Golf Course with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
Entry fee is $75 per person and includes green fees, golf cart, lunch and prizes.
The format is three-person scramble; if you don’t have a team, the committee will find you one.

Waimea, Angels brave the weather
Bristy Agu finished with a game-high 11 points as Waimea topped Wailua, 22-16 in the county’s 12 and Under girls league, Wednesday in Kalaheo.
Kamalei Higa finished with 10 points to lead the Wailua effort.
Mahea Hanie-Grace tickled the twine for 14 points to lead Gee’s Angels to 36-17 win over Island Heat in the finale.
Arrissa Thronas helped the Angels with 9 points.
Sierra Mayer topped the Heat scoring with 8 points.
Nawiliwili Yacht Club offers presentations
The Nawiliwili Yacht Club will be offering a series of bimonthly informational slide shows and lectures to members and the general public called the “NYC Enrichment Series.”
The presentations will cover a wide variety of topics of interest to boaters and yachts-men.
Vice Commodore Mel Wills will give the first presentation on February 13 at the club-house.
The title of his presentation is: The Racing Rules of Sailing. Mel will cover both the basics and the subtle points, including the changes to the 2005-2008 rules.
There will be social gathering at 6:30 p.m. with the presentation at 7 p.m. Future presentations will include: Chartering in Turkey, Marine Surveying, Sailing in the South Pacific, Sail Trim and others.
