KAUA’I AND HAWAI’I BY THE NUMBERS

  • Gov. Linda Lingle recently unveiled a state strategic-energy plan designed to encourage and support market-based development of reliable, cost-effective and self-reliant energy for Hawai’i, she said in a news release. If fully implemented by 2020, it would save 110 million barrels of crude oil and retain $6.32 billion in Hawai’i’s economy, and eliminate 49 million tons of carbon-dioxide emissions.
