Small Works Show coming soon

Works are being accepted for the Kaua‘i Society of Artists’ Small Works Show on Jan. 21 at the Kukui Grove Center exhibition hall between Kauai Bakery & Cinnamon and the Kauai Products Store, states a Kaua‘i Society of Artists press release.

New artists are welcome to submit up to five works, which must each be no larger than 12 inches in any dimension.

The show opens with an artists’ reception Jan. 28 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Kukui Grove Center, with a walk-and-talk with show juror Shigeru Miyamoto at 5 p.m., and an awards ceremony at 6 p.m.

Miyamoto, a former Kaua‘i resident, is a ceramics professor at the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa.

The show will continue open, free to the public, through March 3, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, and until 8 p.m. on Fridays.

Artists are reminded to pick up their works on March 4.
