Due to the implementation of a common statewide calendar and the weighted-student formula beginning in school year 2006-07, parents planning to request a geographic exception for their child to attend another school outside of their home school geographic area may request a “Request for Geographic Exception” application form at any public school, state Department of Education officials state in a press release.
School officials will assist applicants regarding the procedures to request a geographic exception.
All applications for geographic exceptions must be submitted to officials at current home schools now through Feb. 28.
The principals from the requested schools will inform parents of their decisions during the month of March.
