KAUA’I AND HAWAI’I BY THE NUMBERS

  • After four years of steady decline, the value of sales of fruits grown on Kaua’i increased in 2004, to around $2 million. Higher values were reported for all fruits except papayas. The $2 million figure was up 15 percent from $1.739 million in 20003, according to figures from the state Department of Agriculture.
