Hawai’i hosts New Mexico State, who is currently in second in the WAC, on Thursday and Louisiana Tech on Friday, to close out the regular season.
The No. 9 University of Hawai`i Rainbow Wahine volleyball team (20-6, 14-0 WAC) picked up wins last week at Utah State and San Jose State, clinching their 10th-consecutive WAC title.
Wahine on TV KFVE (Channel 5) will televise the matches live with Jim Leahey (playby- play) and Chris McLachlin (color commentary) will cover both matches.
The broadcasts are also streamed live over the Internet and archived at www.hawaiiantelmedia.com for a fee.
‘Bows tip-off season against No. 4 Spartans
The Hawai’i men’s basketball team opens the 2005-06 season by hosting No. 4 Michigan State, Saturday, Nov.
19, at the Stan Sheriff Center. Tip-off is set for 1:05 p.m.
The last time UH faced a team ranked higher than the fourth-ranked Spartans was No. 2 Kansas, Dec. 30, 1997 in the Outrigger Hotels Rainbow Classic championship game at the Stan Sheriff Center. UH won that game, 76-65. The Rainbow Warriors (0-0) are coming off a 110-55 rout over Division II Hawai’i-Hilo, in the team’s only exhibition game of the season. Six players scored in doubles figures as UH built a 63-23 halftime lead.
The Spartans (0-0) won both of their exhibition games — a 107-73 victory over Lake Superior State and 77-58 win over Northern Michigan last Saturday.
Michigan State was recently picked the nation’s preseason No. 1- ranked team by the Sporting News.

tip-off time to accommodate Michigan State’s flight plans to Maui for the EA Sports Maui Invitational…UH head coach Riley Wallace needs one more victory for 300 at the school…in 18 seasons at the school, Wallace has accumulated a 299-241 record…both Wallace and MSU coach Tom Izzo are the deans of their respective conferences, Wallace having served 18 seasons in the WAC and Izzo coaching 10 years in the Big Ten.

UH travels to Las Vegas for a nonconference road game at UNLV, Tuesday, Nov. 22 at the Thomas & Mack Center. The game is part of a rare in-season home-and-home series with the Runnin’ Rebels. UH hosts UNLV, Tuesday, Dec. 6 at the Stan Sheriff Center.

The University of Hawai’i football team is off this weekend and will have a chance to upset nationally-ranked Wisconsin on national television (ESPN2). The Warriors face the Badgers on Nov. 25, starting at 4:05 p.m.
