WAILUA — Erin Pickett had two goals, including the ice breaker to lead KSC-North to a 2-2 halftime deadlock, Sunday.
The Girls Under 18 contest was a repeat of last week’s season finale with the outcome almost repeating itself as KSCCentral came back with three unanswered goals in the second half enroute to an 8-3 victory led by Auika Muragen who went home with a hat trick (three goals), Skye Shimabukuro getting two goals and key assists in goals made by Muragin and Melissa Iida.
Emma Makepa-Foley and Darci Murata accounted for the final KSC-Central math.
Jocelyn Enrique notched the sole KSC-North goal in the second half.
The KSC-Central victory sets the stage for the showdown, Sunday at the Wailua Houselots Park as the undefeated KSC-East girls take on the girls in yellow.
In a contest taking place at the neighboring field, Lihu’e Remix played tenacious defense, but succumbed to the relentless charge of Westside United, 3-0. Blaise Ferguson scored the sole first half goal with Chad Sherman and Dylan Snyder scoring in the second half.
The Westside United also sets up a showdown in the U-12 division as they meet up with the Lihu’e Cougars in a rematch of the season finale where both teams finished in a 2-2 stalemate.
More excitement was found in the GU-14 division as the Lihu’e Remix edged KSC-North in a 1-0 match that was settled in a shootout. That win pits them against the Tunda Girls who blanked Kulia Lanakila, 4-0.
