Time to bring out the “real lumber” for another great benefit golf tournament.
The 12th Annual Contractors Association of Kaua’i (CAK) Scholarship event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Po’ipu Bay Golf Course.
The tourney will begin at 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. The two-person best ball (low net score) formatted event also has a Callaway Flight for golfers without established handicaps. The 12th-place team will win a Big Island golf weekend at a ResortQuest property.
Goodfellow Bros. is sponsoring the hole-in-one contest. Prizes will include $10,000 cash on the 199-yard 17th hole; and golf clubs and Sony Electronic equipment on the other three par-3 holes. Honsador Lumber/James Hardie Building Products will present television sets in a drawing for golfers whose first drive gets on the greens on the par-3 holes.
Golfers who don’t make it on the greens will vie for gift certificates donated by M&H Painting. The annual Las Vegas trip that is part of the CAK tournament will be awarded in the American Savings Bank putting contest this year.
The net proceeds from the annual golf tournament will be used to award scholarships to Kaua’i’s students pursuing a career in the construction industry.
This year, Richard Tom, Maran Osakoda, Cedric Macadangdang, Troy Ching, and Garon Nobriga were CAK scholars. Entry forms for the CAK Scholarship Golf Tournament are available at the Wailua Golf Course, Po’ipu Bay Resort, or by calling the CAK Kaua’i Office at 246-2662. Last day for registration will be Sept. 12.
