Everyone is invited to Kaua‘i’s biggest, most popular, and exciting paniolo event, the Sixth Annual Koloa Plantation Days Rodeo on Sunday, July 31.
Coordinators Joyce and Jimmy Miranda of CJM Country Stables clarified that although there will be some competition eliminations during the morning, the official rodeo starting time is noon.
A $1 donation per person to benefit Kaua‘i’s YMCA will be collected at the gate.
The All Girls Rodeo Association will gallop into the arena to start the excitement with the Grand Entry Ceremony.
The CJM arena is located about a mile down from the Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i Resort and Spa on Po‘ipu Road.
There will be plenty of parking, food booths, a beer garden, logo t-shirt sales, and fun under the Po‘ipu sun for the whole family.
You’ll see Kaua‘i’s finest cowboys and cowgirls competing in team roping, barrel racing, poo wai u, breakaway roping, double mugging, and mixed double mugging, and to top it off, some heart pounding bull riding.
This year, there’ll be a special award for the best dressed team of stylish cowgirl with her fancy rodeo horse.
The event is one of the highlights for the island and the Hawai‘i Tourism Authority.
