After handily defeating Hilo, 14-5 in five innings on Wednesday, Lihu‘e found itself on the opposite end of a rout, yesterday against Maui.
The eastside all-stars were drubbed, 14-4 in five innings and gave Maui its first win of the tournament.
In game two, Makakilo-Kapolei continued its winning ways with an 8-2 victory over Mililani “B.”
On Wednesday, Makakilo-Kapolei trounced West Kaua‘i, 10-4 and Mililani “B” fell to ‘Aiea, 1-6.
The olympic-style format of tournament play continues today, starting at 9 a.m. at the Lihu‘e County Park, behind the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall, where the rest of the tournament will be played.
Saturday’s action starts at 10 a.m. with the first two seeds of each division facing off in an elimination round.
The 2005 Hawai‘i Region Bronco State Championship game is set for Sunday, July 17, at 10 a.m.
