Antonio Lima of Kapa‘a passed away at his home on July 8, 2005, at the age of 73. Born in Portugal on July 28, 1931, he was a maintenance worker with Smith’s Motor Boats. He is survived by his wife, Gilda; two sons, Duarte Lima of Lawa‘i and Jose Lima of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter, Kelsie Lima of Kapa‘a; two grandchildren; brother, Isaias Lima; three sisters, Dulce Ramos, Maria Lima and Teresa Ferreira; numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may visit with the family from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wed., July 13, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; service officiated by the Rev. Harry Sabog will begin at 6 p.m. The family suggests attire be casual, and that flowers be omitted. Donations may be made to Kauai Hospice.

Darlene Ruiz of ‘Ele‘ele passed away at her residence on July 9, 2005. Born on Kaua‘i on March 5, 1958, she was 47, and a warehouse clerk for Big Save. She is survived by her husband, Gerard Ruiz; sons Ross David (Nohea) Ruiz and Kyle Richard Ruiz; mother, Mary Baptiste; brothers Richard (Roxanne) Baptiste, Rodney (JoRae) Baptiste and Anthony (Pam) Baptiste; and a grandson, Rayson Ruiz. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A service is scheduled at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo on Thursday, July 14, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m., and Mass to follow at 4:30 p.m., celebrated by Father Biz. The family suggests casual attire.
