Larry “Lucio” B. Pajardo of Puhi died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on June 25, 2005, at the age of 66. Born in Camp 7 McBryde on March 4, 1939, he retired as a crane operator with McBryde Sugar.
He is survived by three sisters: Lourdes Menor, Marcelina (Segu-deceased) Bungcayao, Lydia (Rudy) Madriaga, one brother: Benjamin Pajardo, all of Kaua‘i; numerous nieces, nephews and relatives.
Visitation with the family will be on Friday, July 8, at Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Kapaia from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment to follow.
Arrangements are being handled by Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
Pablo Asuncion
Pablo Arcancel Asuncion of Koloa, died June 29, 2005, at Queen’s Hospital, at the age of 70.
Born Jan. 5, 1935, in Laoag City, Philippines, he worked as a Kaua‘i Sunshine Market vendor.
He is survived by his wife: Cora Asuncion; five sons: Gil Asuncion, Noel Asuncion, Ross Asuncion, Paul Asuncion and Randy Asuncion; two daughters: Ana Ko and Iris Asuncion; one brother: Benjamin Asuncion; three sisters: Brigida Racelo, Amerita Speasmaker, and Amelia Barber; nine grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, at St. Raphael’s Church in Koloa, where Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. by Father Nap. Burial to follow at St. Raphael’s Church Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Marvillee Nitta
Marvillee Nani Waialeale Kaiwa “Aunty Nani” Nitta died on July 5, 2005, at the age of 71.
She was born Oct. 26, 1933, to Edward Baba Kaiwa and Ida Ono Kaiwa in Kekaha. She worked for the tourist industry for many years.
She is survived by her former spouse, Roland Tsuneo Nitta of Houston, Texas; mother-in-law, Mary Nitta of Kekaha, brother, Sonny (Aumoe) Kaiwa of Ka‘a‘awa, O‘ahu; sisters, Gail (Stewart) Burley of Lawa‘i, Ivy Rivera of Kekaha; sons, Jeffery Nitta of Kekaha, Francis (Rosalie) Nitta of Kekaha, Marvin (Patricia) Nitta of Gig Harbor, Wash., Mark (Kathy) Nitta of Grand Terrace, Calif., daughters, Raleen (Zeebedee) Rivera of York, Neb., Rhona Nitta, Rena (Asa) Williams of Little Rock, Ark. and Roxanne Stecher of Kihei, Maui; 14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawa‘i; memorial service officiated by Bishop Stewart Burley will begin at 1 p.m. Family requests aloha attire and that flowers be omitted. Contributions may be made in her memory to Kauai United Way.
