Alternative energy
I’ve just read the Sunday, June 12 issue front-page article that claims “Kaua‘i leads the state in alternative energy generation.”
Our new KIUC President Dutch Achenbach’s great idea of having a field of storage batteries in Kekaha is hilarious. Achenbach’s field of dreams, or nightmare?
Achenbach and associates are taking credit for the hydropower plants built in 1920! Shame on them. What a joke. I guess they think we’re all stupid and we believe anything we read.
Kauai Electric did nothing in the alternative field.
Rates have climbed to over 30 cents per Kwh, with no relief in sight. KIUC is patting themselves on the back for people of vision in 1920. Where are the new hydropower plants, windmills, and solar panels?
They have just begun holding meetings regarding these ideas.
