Florencia R. Semana
Florencia R. Semana of Waimea Valley, died May 31, 2005, at Kauai Veteran’s Memorial Hospital at the age of 73.
Born in Waimea on Nov. 7, 1931, she was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, good friend and neighbor.
She is survived by her loving husband, Suelo L. Semana of 54 years and three daughters: Susan E. Semana-Honebrink of Seattle, Wash., Stella (Scott) M. Semana-Rebbin of Colorado Springs, and Emmaline C. Semana of Waimea; five grand-children: Robert S. and Ronella L. Dotson of Colorado Springs; Brittany N., Stanley A. and Brendon M. Chock of Waimea; two sisters and a brother: Berna (Edward) Remata of Makaweli, Philomena Harding of South Carolina and Delfin Viquelia.
Viewing with the family will be from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at St. Theresa’s Church in Kekaha on Friday, June 10. Service to follow at 11 a.m. with Father Biz officiating. Casual attire is suggested.

Glenn Alan Gasper of Hanapepe died June 1, 2005, at the age of 43.
Born in Honolulu, and raised on Kaua‘i, he graduated from Waimea High School and also attended the University of Hawai‘i. Glenn was involved in a lot of community sports. Many people knew him as “Coach Glenn,” where he coached football for 20 years with the Hanapepe Pop Warner Association.
Glenn is survived by his wife Rhonda L. Gaspar; son Alan-Michael Gaspar; five stepchildren: Sunshine (Nick) Kuhlmann, Maile Palacio, C.J. Palacio, Janis Palacio, John-Vincent Palacio and one hanai son, Po‘okela Chang-Wo of Kaua‘i. He is also survived by his parents, Alfredo and Maryellen Gaspar, step mother: Linda Gaspar; four brothers: Gary (Renette) Gaspar of Kaua‘i, Gregg (Lisa) Gaspar of Maui, Guy Gaspar of Kaua‘i and Grant (Pauline) Gaspar of Kona; stepsister Leann Fu; stepbrothers: Eric (Juelyn) Fu, Russell (Tracey) Fu and Ryan Fu; five grandchildren: Kaleb, Kirra, Alohilani, Kekai and Shandalyn; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may call on Friday, June 10, at the family’s residence at 3562 Ahi Street, Hanapepe, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and again on Saturday, June 11, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. where Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow.

May Melapa Corr of Lihu‘e, died June 4, 2005, at her home at the age of 87.
Born Dec. 26, 1917, in Hanapepe, she was a custodian.
Preceded in death by her husband: James W. Corr, Jr., daughter Goldie Mae Kahale and two sons-in-law: Ronald Matsusaka and Julian Velasquez, she is survived by six children: Barbara Velasquez, Charles (Jean) Corr, Richard (Wanda) Corr, Colleen (Lawrence) Okamoto, John (Sandy) Corr and Aletha Matsusaka; one son-in-law: Henry Kahale; four hanai children: Wilfred (Patricia) Kuali I, George (Mary Ann) Makanui, Lorraine Makanui-Hemming, and Bernard (Linda) Makanui; 44 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren; and 16 great great grandchildren.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, at Kalaheo Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; where services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
