Ralph D. Fernandez
Ralph Dominador Fernandez of Kekaha died at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital on June 4, 2005, at the age of 95. Born in Marcos, Pangasinan, Philippines on April 6, 1910, he was a retired irrigation supervisor with Kekaha Sugar Company.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the Rev. Lucena Rico Fernandez; brother, Segundo Fernandez; and sisters, Consuelo Ocerto and Tuyoung Viluan. He is survived by four sons: Melvin Fernandez of Newport, R.I.; Edward (Georgia) Fernandez of Kekaha; Daniel Fernandez of Kekaha; and Henry (Carmen) Fernandez of Roy, Wash.; three daughters: Bernice Wade of Kekaha; Catherine Dilwith of Reno, Nev.; and Jeanette (John) Pohato of Oregon; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 9 a.m. on Friday, June 10, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel. Service is there at 10 a.m., followed by burial at Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Kapaia. Casual attire is suggested.
