The fourth roping competition in the ACTRA 2005 series took place on Sunday, May 22 at the CJM Stables Arena in Po‘ipu.
The events provide local ropers, their families, friends, and the Kaua‘i community an opportunity to get together and enjoy the all-american sport of team roping.
The series winners will qualify to compete on the mainland at the finals in Reno, Nevada.
The next ACTRA roping is scheduled for Sunday, June 5, beginning at 9 a.m. at CJM. The events include open barrel racing as well as team roping. Everyone is invited to come enjoy the action. Admission is free and for more information, contact Joyce Miranda at 742-6338.
In #5 roping, Joey Lorenzo and Harold Aiu took first, followed by Pat Brun Jr. and Adam Brun, Bob Brun and Jim Miranda, and Gavin Shimogawa and Adam Brun.
In #7 roping, Ross Farias and Kevin Fernandez took home the top prize. They were followed by Jim Miranda and Stuart Wellington, Joey Lorenzo and Pat DeBusca, and Randy Brun and Joyce Miranda.
