The Lihu‘e A’s was first to score in the bottom of the first inning with four runs on five hits off the bats from Dwight Fujii, Tomoo Hiranaka, Randy Tomlinson and Russell Bardago. Run number five came in the second inning on a Rookies error and a base hit from Pete Rayno. In the Top of the third inning the Rookies scored their first run on a sacrifice fly from Walter Souza.
In the bottom of the third inning Tomlinson and Bruddah Reittmeister both were on with base hits when Ernest Domingo hit a home run and pocketed three RBI’s. In the top of the fourth inning the Rookies brought three runners across the plate on base hits from Mike Folster, Archie Fontanilla and Raymond Espino topped with a sacrifice fly from Wayne Hashimoto.
In the bottom of the fourth Lihu‘e came in with run number nine on base hits from Fujii and Hiranaka. Lihu‘e scored a single run in the fifth inning and two more in the sixth inning on hits from Domingo, Bardago, Glenn Akina, Fujii, Hiranaka and Reittmeister.
The Rookies’ last four runs came in the top of the seventh inning on hits from Fontanilla, Nelson Mendonca, Espino, Hashimoto, Steven Lizama, Wally Sonoda and Souza.

West Kaua‘i 15, Lihu‘e A’s 9
West Kaua‘i put two runs in the score book in the top of the first inning on hits from Frank Bukoski, Larry Ephan and a sacrifice fly from Junior Rivera.
In the second inning West Kauai -came up with seven runs. With three runners on, a defensive error allowed two runs in and on follow up base hits from Richard Carveiro and Bob Merkle, two more runners scored. With two runners still on, Frank Bukoski cleared the bases with a home run bringing the West Kaua‘i score to nine.
The score became ten for West Kaua‘i in the third inning on an RBI hit from Pat Pavao scoring Ephan. In the fifth inning West Kaua‘i came up with runs eleven, twelve and thirteen on base hits from Merkle, Rivera, Joe Tafua, Pavao, John Patt, and Albert Carveiro.
In the top of the sixth the final two West Kaua‘i runs were tacked on with base hits from Richard Carveiro, Bukoski and Ephan.

Kuku’s Aces 1, East Kaua‘i 16
The Aces, playing with a fourteen man line-up in this TKO five-inning game came up with one run in the bottom of the fifth inning on base hits from Ernest Dela Cruz and Stanley Rita with the RBI going to Rita. Batting .500 for the Aces in this game were: Ale Lomosad, Solomon Reyes, Stanley Rita and Ben Pescador. Losing pitcher was Rita.
Seven runs were scored by East Kauai in the bottom of the first inning with a three run homer going to Alex Youn topped with base hits from Ron Javier, Dickie Koerte, Rick Ramones, Jerome Hew, Norman Holt and Les Kubo.
In the second inning Damien Victorino crossed the plate for run number eight with Javier taking the RBI.
In the third inning, seven runs were scored on hits from Hew, Ronnie Holt, Ned Nightowl, Ernest Koerte, Victorino and Javier.
The final run was scored in the fifth on a base hit from Night-owl bringing in Hew. Hitters for East Kaua‘i were: Victorino, Ronnie Holt and Nightowl with 2 for 3, Javier, Hew and Youn with 3 for 3 plus one home run for Youn and three RBI’s. Winning pitcher was Ronnie Holt.
K-Makule 22, Kawaihau 8
K-Makule scored seven runs in the top of the first inning. John Taboniar and Gordon Arakaki were on with base singles when Guy Ruiz hit a double to center and scored both Taboniar and Arakaki. Rudy Villon then got on with an error and with two runners on Doric Remata hit a double to center scoring Ruiz. Stan Buduan then placed a hard hit to third and Villon scored. Lefty Remata gets on with a base hit followed by Ale Otlang who pops one to left bringing in runs six and seven.
In the second inning lead off batter Yuki Shigeta hits a single to right field and follow up batter Taboniar gets a double. With two runners on, Guy Ruiz again hits a double allowing Shigeta and Taboniar to score.
Doric Remata follows with his second double and Ruiz scores. Buduan hits a perfect single to center field and next batter Lefty Remata drives in Doric.
