Nick Sheremeta of Kapa‘a, died May 19, 2005, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 73.
Born Dec. 19, 1931, in Alberta, Canada, he was a home rentals proprietor.
He is survived by his wife: Janet Sheremeta of Kapa‘a; 10 children: Shirley (Ron) Meshen, Nick (Cindy) Sheremeta, Gordon Sheremeta, Doreen (Roy) Dixon, Gary (Heather) Sheremeta, Betty Foster, Joey Sheremeta, Sylvia (Les) Gill, Tony (Anne) Braniski, and Ted (Rose) Braniski; brothers and sisters: Mary Zwarych, Jean (Steve) Slurarchuk, Ann (Bill) Krevenchuk, Bill (Anne) Sheremeta, Mike Sheremeta, Walter (Denise) Sheremeta, and John Sheremeta; 10 grandchildren; six great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa where services will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Burial to follow at KalapakiBay Memorial Park Cemetery in Nawiliwili.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Yasuko Shigematsu
Yasuko Shigematsu of ‘Ele‘ele, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on May 19, 2005, at the age of 89.
Born in Lawai, on April 30, 1916, she was a chambermaid with Prince Kuhio Hotel.
She is survived by son, James J. Shigematsu of Mililani, O‘ahu; daughter, Betty M. (William) Smith of Lihu‘e; four grandchildren; brother, Noboru (Kuniko) Miyakado of Kalaheo; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, at the Lihue Missionary Church. Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted.
