Polihale State Park on the west coast of Kaua‘i is closed until further notice, due to a water-system failure, according to officials with the state Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of State Parks. The park will be closed until the problem can be corrected, officials said.
Closure signs are posted at the beginning of the Polihale access road off Kaumuali‘i Highway, and at the entrance to the park camping areas and day-use area.
Those with permits to camp at Polihale State Park have an option to stay at Koke‘e State Park or have their permit fee refunded.
