Wanted: Kids 5-80 years old!
The big Ha‘ena to Hanalei Run/Walk is scheduled for Saturday, June 4, on the gorgeous northshore of Kaua‘i. This is the Club’s 25th anniversary of this event and they are celebrating in a big way by encouraging kids from age 5 to age 80 and beyond to enter.
Donna Schultz, 81 years young, a local northshore resident, will be participating in this year’s event for the 25th time! She is definitely a winner many times over. This will mark her 207th race since turning 53 years old! We’re hoping to have some competition for her this year in either the 8-mile walk or the 5k run (of course, it can also be walked)!
Not only is there a 1-mile fun run for kids up to 13 yrs of age, but there are three other races. The annual Haena to Hanalei Walk and Haena to Hanalei Run (8 miles) and the 5K Run. Awards for male and female overall winners plus 1,2,3 place winners in each division will be honored after the pancake breakfast.
All registered runners/walkers will receive a t-shirt (if they register before race day) and an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast. They will also be eligible to win great prizes from a drawing of all registrants.
