BERKELEY, Calif. — Matt Einspahr hit a grand slam as California rolled over Hawai‘i 11-0 Wednesday in a non-conference game.
Einspahr’s blast highlighted Cal’s six-run eighth inning as the Bears improved to 25-16. The Rainbows dropped to 18-23.
Six Cal pitchers held Hawai‘i to four hits.
Junior starter Joe Todoroff (4-2) allowed one hit and one walk while striking out three over four innings
Hawai‘i starter Ricky Bauer (3-3) lasted two innings.
He gave up three runs on four hits, allowing no walks and recording one strikeout.
The Rainbows continue their road trip Friday with the start of a three-game Western Athletic Conference series at San Jose State.

AYSO Region 940 registration
AYSO soccer signups for region 940 will be happening at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center on April 22 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on April 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Registration fee is $50.
New players are required to provide a copy of their birth certificates at registration.

AYSO Region 941 signups
This Friday, April 22 is registration time for AYSO Region 941 from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Kapa‘a Middle School Gym and 5 – 7 p.m. at the Kilauea Neighborhood center.
The first 50 to register at each location will receive a free molded silicone bracelet that displays the AYSO philosophy: Everyone plays.
Region 941 serves players from Haena to Wailua.
Players between the ages of 4 and 18 are invited to register.
(Players must be 4 years old by July 31, 2005 and no older than 18 on July 31, 2005).
New players must bring a copy of their birth certificate.
Registration fees are $55.00 per player and include the uniform and a trophy.
Youth canoe program
Registration for Pu’uwai Outrigger Canoe Club Children’s Program (ages 12 to 18) is going on now through Thursday, April 23, at the Wailua River. No previous paddling experience is required.
They supply the canoes, paddles and instruction, the kids supply the energy, contact Brian at 635-6311 for any questions.
Walter Smith canoe race coming up
Looking for a free, fun way to spend a Saturday with your family?
Why not come down to Wailua River Park on May 14 and watch the annual Walter Smith Memorial Canoe Regatta?
From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., you will be able to see some of Kaua‘i’s finest outrigger canoe paddlers compete in exciting flatwater sprints.
So bring a picnic basket, or munch on some ono (tasty) grinds from Kawaikini Canoe Club’s food booth, and enjoy the races.
