Daihichi Fujii
Daihichi Fujii of Lihue, Kauai, died at his residence, at age of 88.
Born in Lihu‘e on Sept. 21, 1916, he was a retired County worker with the County of Kauai.
He is survived by three sons, Leslie (Nancy) Fujii, Dwight (Lois) Fujii and Floyd (Galyn) Fujii, all of Kaua‘i; daughter, Janice (Gerald) Chung of O‘ahu; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Apr. 3, at the Lihue Christian Church; service to begin at 3 p.m. Casual attire is suggested and that flowers be omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
David Richards, Sr.
David Abraham Richards Sr. of Kapa‘a died March 17, 2005, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 55.
Born June 24, 1949, in California, he was a fireman.
He is survived by two sons David Richards, Jr. and Troy Richards; mother, Hazel Christian and three grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Thursday, March 31, at Kauai Veterans Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Leonides Samiano
Leonides Samiano died on March 28, 2005, in Los Angeles, Calif., after a long battle and complications from diabetes.
His service will be held in Los Angeles.
Born June 12, 1923, in Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he came to Kaua‘i in 1946 and worked at Lihu‘e Sugar Plantation until 1960 when he relocated his family to Los Angeles.
He is survived by his wife, Fidela; son Virgil Samiano, daughters: Edith Pascua, Jeannet Palacpac, Linda Luna, Gladys Crosby and Catherine Samiano; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
