Tamayosi played brilliantly with a 6-1, 6-1 triumph over Jasmine Blaine.
Crystine Ito continued the Kapa‘a wins with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Jennifer Ray.
Keli Okamoto and Tasha Naraguchi had an easy time with Dianna Cowern and Georgina Ferrier, 6-1, 6-1 in 1st doubles action.
Julie Yoshida and Mariko Asano defeated Tayler Dabin and Natasha Arruda, 6-1, 6-2 in second doubles and Sky Smith and Melody Yeung fell to Christine Lam and Stephanie Kawamura, 6-1, 6-3.
Sisters Lauren and Carrie Esaki won the consolation match, 8-6, over Juli Blachowiak and Melody Yeung.
In boys’ action, Island’s Justin Vea defeated former team-mate Kia Tom, 6-3, 6-1, but that wasn’t enough as Kapa‘a edged Island School, 3-2.
Kapa‘a’s Bryson Todd blanked Gabriel Sakai, 6-0, 6-0. Corey Napolean and Taylor Alfiler of Kapa‘a got the victory over Andrew Jones and Kevin Dhorne, 6-1, 6-0 in doubles action.
Kapa‘a’s Danny Rodrick and Chris Ramelb teamed up for the 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 triumph over Justin Pelton and Andrew Rowen in second doubles action.
Island’s Akira Nordmeier and Fabio Villa defeated Kila Youn and Travis Wakayama, 6-4, 6-3.
In other action, the Kaua‘i High School boys outnumbered Waimea, 5-2.
Jordan Kukino won by default in number one singles and Kaua‘i’s Paris Mackey outdueled Kollin Morikawa, 6-4, 5-7, 7-5 in number two singles.
Waimea’s Joe Mecham and Bryson Hayashi lost to James Odan and Chad Naganuma, 6-4, 6-1.
Kaua‘i’s Stephen McClaran and Michael Hirahara ousted David Honma and Jake Anderson, 6-0, 6-2.
Reyn Balocan and Bryce Hosaka of Kaua‘i, slapped around brothers Scott and Nathan Martin, 6-2, 6-1.
Waimea took two out of the three exchange matches with Anderson and David Hadwin defeating Gordon Werner and Alan Castillo, 9-7, and Jonah Farias and Mecham handling Jeremy Ferguson and Sheadon Ringor an 8-1 loss. Kaua‘i’s John-Louis Vento and Sterling Inouye slammed past Reuben Nonaka and Tyren Sakuda, 8-0.
The Kaua‘i girls took it to Waimea, 4-1 behind Alex Sirois’ win over Ciera Sherman, 6-1, 6-1 and Lezlie Tao slipped past Tori Kagawa, 6-4, 6-3 in the second singles match to complete the Red Raider sweep.
Kaua‘i’s Megan Vento and Cassady Sirois won a tough duel against Sonya Tacub and Reiko Ayabe, 6-4, 1-6, 7-5. Tati Zina and Jaymee Wakumoto defeated Kristine Sison and Kelsi Naumu, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2, and Waimea’s Mitzi Seto and Sharla Shimono edged Alyssa Miyake and Nikki Matsumura, 7-5, 5-7, 7-4.
In consolation action, Kaua‘i’s Chelsea Yamasa and Amanda Savage defeated Lovely Abalos and Erna Agmata, 8-2. Rachel Parker and Alana White of Kaua‘i ran past Sherman and Leslie Gudoy, 8-4, and Waimea’s Sisoy and Kagawa beat Lacey Agena and Lizzy Schiller, 8-4.
KIF tennis continues this Saturday with Kaua‘i battling Kula at Kaua‘i Lagoons and Kapa‘a taking on Waimea at Hanapepe. Both matches start at 12:00 p.m.
