I was very excited to win first place in the junior research division of the Kaua‘i District Science Fair. The Science Fair is just one of many activities and programs I am involved with that help me feed my interest in math, science, and technology. I would like to thank everyone at Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School for all the encouragement and direction I have received in the past three years.
It was fun to participate in the fair and the Math-Counts competition. Winning is, of course, also pleasant. But it is the experience and exposure to new ideas and people that really make the effort worth while. And I could not make that effort without the support of teachers, administrators, fellow students, parents and the extended community.
