Faustino Patricio Sr.
Faustino “Pat” Patricio Sr. of Kekaha died at his home on Jan. 24, 2005, at the age of 85.
Born in Kapa‘a on Oct. 29, 1919, he served as a mechanic in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He retired as a supervisor from the Kekaha Sugar Co. and also was a school bus driver for Akita Enterprises.
He coached youth football and baseball as well as refereed and umpired, respectively. He loved playing Senior Softball and was a member of the first team from Hawai‘i to ever win the World Series (75andover division.)
He is survived by his wife Estrellita C. “Esther” Patricio; four sons Fred (Julie) Patricio of Kekaha, Danny (Carmelita) Patricio of Kaumakani; Noel (Joni) Patricio of Lawai and Nelson Patricio of Georgia; daughter: Amorita Jones of O‘ahu; brother: William (Shirley) Mande of Hanama‘ulu; sisters: Gladys Padre and Crispina (Dick) Laranio, both of Kapahi; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son, Faustino “Paos” Patricio Jr.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5, at the Kauai Veterans’ Cemetery with service and burial to follow. Casual attire is suggested.
Crescencia Lopez
Crescencia Pongasi Lopez of Lihu‘e, died at Queen’s Hospital on Jan. 27, 2005, at the age of 82.
Born May 14, 1922, in Bohol Islands, Cebu, Philippines, she was a homemaker and a devoted Roman Catholic.
Preceded in death by her daughter, Hazel Rellin, brother, Jerry Pongasi and stepson Allan Lopez, she is survived by her husband, Frederico Lopez Sr.; seven daughters: April J. Rellin of Maryland, Martha (Dennis) Kaminski of Illinois, Dolores (William) Barry of Alaska, Annie Rellin of Puhi, Sheila (Ralph) Schmarje of Arizona, Carmela Cabacungan of Lihu‘e, and Novella (Lawrence) Laranio of Waimea; two sons: Timothy Laranio of Anahola and Wayne (Leilani) Laranio of Kapa‘a; stepdaughter: Kathleen Christian; four stepsons: Ali Birtadaso, Garrick Lopez, Ronald (Jeanette) Lopez and Joe (Lihue) Lopez, 18+ grandchildren, 14+ greatgrandchildren, and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 5, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kapaia at 8:30 a.m. Services at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Aloha attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
Oliver C. Tesch
Oliver C. Tesch of Lihu‘e, died at Queen’s Medical Center on Jan. 31, 2005 at the age of 51.
Born in La Union, Philippines on Jan. 13, 1954, he was employed by AllKauai Cleaning & Dirt Busters Janitorial Services; also a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by a son, Bradford Tesch of Puhi; daughter, Katherine Tesch of Puhi; four brothers, Orlan Tesch of Kapaa, George Tesch of Africa, William Tesch of Philippines and Jun Tesch of Georgia; two sisters, Jeanette Tesch of Philippines and Norma Angel of Georgia; aunt Carol Pacio of Los Angeles, Calif.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 7, at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery Pavilion; with interment to follow at 9:45 a.m. Casual attire is suggested.
