Wants Costco to build
I do agree Costco is great for Kaua‘i. More jobs and better prices for business vendors and for personal shoppers. You can go into a grocery store, for instance, and buy 15 to 20 small items. Milk, cereal, Pop Tarts for the kids, soda pop, eggs maybe a few cans of beans, canned corn, and by the time you check out you are already at $45 to $50. Unlike Vons in the Mainland, which has merged with Safeway, they have a Vons club card. You slide your card, no charges, and if something is on sale it tells you how much you saved, and if you do not have your card at the time of shopping you can give them your phone number or save your receipt and the next time you are shopping you simply present your card and receipt to the clerk and they give you your savings in cash.
Maybe if we had a big hotel it could generate more income for people on the Westside. There has to be more to the Westside than just Jo Jo’s shaved ice, a great place. Change is always good. It is a future that I think the kids growing up here need.
