Harvey Apo
Harvey Apo of Kapa‘a died at home on Jan. 5, 2005, at the age of 65.
Born in Wailuku, Maui on Aug. 15, 1939, he was owner of Apo’s Sheet Metal, Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Denise Clark; three daughters, Lisa Apo of Kapolei, O‘ahu, Tammy Apo of Makaha, O‘ahu and Renee Mahealani Apo of Orlando, Fla,; hanai stepson, Lani Clark; six grandchildren; five brothers, Jesse Apo of Maui, Ralph (Anne) Apo of O‘ahu, Earl (Aggie) Apo of Maui, Francis (Mokihana) Apo of Maui and Patrick (Kitty) Apo of Moloka‘i; two sisters, Bernice Lei (Richard) Tam of O‘ahu and Sarah Pua Iaea of O‘ahu; nephews, Reginald Apo and Nathan (Kalei) Apo, both of Kaua‘i.
A celebration of his life will begin at noon on Sunday, Jan. 16, under the Wailua Bridge, ocean side. Scattering of ashes will follow. Those attending are asked to bring their favorite photo of Harvey to the service.

Masashi Takemoto
Masashi Takemoto of Hanapepe Heights died at home on Dec. 21, 2004 at the age of 78.
Born in Makaweli on May 28, 1926, he was a retired mechanic with Gay & Robinson.
He is survived by his wife, Fumie; son, Dennis (Mary) Takemoto of Hanapepe Heights, grandchildren, Ken, Mark and Tracy Takemoto; great-grandchildren, K-Malia and Tyde Takemoto; numerous uncles, aunts, nephews and cousins.
Service were private. Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Warren Arakaki
Warren Arakaki of Kalaheo died at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital on Jan. 6, 2005 at the age of 54. Born in Lihu‘e on April 7, 1950, he was an electrician with the County of Kaua‘i Department of Water. He is survived by two sons, Clifton (Anna Exelbierd) Arakaki of Lihu‘e and Schyler Arakaki of Lihu‘e; daughter, Kaylin (Richard Vigilia) Arakaki of Lawa‘i; parents, Hiroshi and Sadami Arakaki of Kalaheo; four brothers, Jerome Arakaki of Moloka‘i, Wesley (Roxanne) Arakaki of Maui, Derek (Elizabeth Duarte) Arakaki of Kalaheo, and Kelly Arakaki of Kalaheo; sister, Lois (Reid) Fujishige of ‘Oma‘o. Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15, at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery pavilion. Service is there at 11 a.m., followed by burial.

Ronald Corpuz Sr.
Ronald R. “Hobog” Corpuz Sr. of Hanama‘ulu died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Jan. 9, 2005, at the age of 58.
Born in Lihu‘e on Mar. 13, 1946, he was a truck driver with Lihue Plantation Company.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Rose Corpuz; two sons, Tyler W. Corpuz of Hanama‘ulu and Ronald R. (Emily) Corpuz of Wailua; three daughters, Amy (Robert) Cremer of Wailua, Shelly (Randall) Cremer of Princeville and Judy L. (Herb) Corpuz of Hanama‘ulu; 12 grandchildren; mother, Lorancia Corpuz of Hanama‘ulu, three brothers, Clarence (Sharon) Corpuz of Hanama‘ulu, Melvin (Lavern) Corpuz of ‘Ele‘ele, and Milton Corpuz of Hanama‘ulu; three sisters, Christine Pardua of Hanama‘ulu, Patricia (Tom) Rivera of O‘ahu and Paula (Harold) Rosa of Lihu‘e; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Service officiated by Father Bill will begin at 10 a.m. Casual attire is suggested.

Magdalena Torres
Magdalena Torres of Makaweli died Dec. 28, 2004, at Kauai Care Center in Waimea at the age of 79.
Born Feb. 11, 1925, in San Juan Ilocos Sur, Philippines, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband: Inocencio Torres of Makaweli; son: Bartolome (Anastacia) Torres of Puhi; daughter: Teresita (Rizal) Antonio of Makaweli; hanai daughter: Charisma (Rogelio) Saturno of the Philippines; sister: Emiliana (Aniceto) Torres of the Philippines; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15, at Sacred Heart Church in Waimea, where service will begin at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Hanapepe Public Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Newton Jellings Booth
Newton Jellings “Ka‘eo” Booth of Wailua Homesteads died Jan. 4, 2005, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 72.
Born Jan. 26, 1932, in Hawai‘i, he served in the U.S. Army, and was a retired seaman with the maritime industry.
He is survived by his wife: Arlecia Booth of Wailua Homesteads; two daughters: Kathy “Pupu” (George) Catobus of Kahalu‘u, O‘ahu, and Jackie K. Booth of Kane‘ohe, O‘ahu; two sons: Chris K. Booth of Kane‘ohe, O‘ahu, and Mike S.K. (Opu‘ulani) Booth of Anahola; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 15, at the Kapaa First Hawaiian Church at 11 a.m. Services at 1 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Chun. Services will continue on O‘ahu on Sunday, Jan. 16, at the Honolulu Harbor by the sea buoy from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., where his cremains will be scattered at sea. Services will be conducted by Kahu Richard K. Kamanu on O‘ahu.
The family requests that flowers be omitted and suggests casual attire. Arrangements are being handled by Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
