Ainsworth T. Shimatsu of Kekaha, died at his home on Dec. 16, 2004, at the age of 48.
Born in Waimea, on Oct. 10, 1956, he was an electronics technician with ITT Industries. He is survived by his wife, Deborah-Lee of Kekaha; son, Alton, daughters, Kayla and Kaesha all of Kekaha; parents, Norie & Annie Shimatsu of Kekaha; brothers, David Shimatsu of Kekaha and Derek Shimatsu of Mililani; sister, Norine (Irving) Soto of Eleele; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Kekaha; Mass officiated by Father Larry will begin at 2 p.m. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.

Judy Ku‘uiponapualeiloke Ryder of Lihu‘e, died Dec. 14, 2004, at the age of 60.
Born in Lihu‘e, she was an employee of Chevron Lihu‘e and the Wailua Country Store.
She is survived by daughters, Tanya (Blu) Cajigal of Makakilo, Deborah (Clayton) Vea of Marysville, Wash., and Dawn (Mark) Vegas of Puhi; son Robert “Paka” Ryder of Lihu‘e; nine grandchildren; sisters, Leilani “Honey” (Manuel) Sanchez, Marcia “Dolly” (Willy) Martin and Gertrude “Sweety” Johnsen; brothers, Edward (Yvonne) Souza, Antone “Sonny” (Queenie) Souza and Frank “Kinky” (Emily) Souza.
Friends may call on Tuesday, Dec. 21, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary from 1 to 3 p.m. Aloha attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Norman Yoshioka
Norman Minoru Yoshioka of Wailuku, Maui, died on Dec. 12, 2004.
Born in Lihu‘e, on Oct. 29, 1947, he was a Hydrologist at the U.S. Geological Survey for 20 years. He also worked for Hawaiian Airlines Maintenance, Gate-Safe security at Maui Airport.
He is survived by his wife, Anne; son, Kyle; daughter Cheri; brother Warren; and sister, Laverne Masaki.
Friends may visit with the family from 9-10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; service at 10 a.m. Family suggest casual attire and that flowers be omitted.
